fire_sign interviewed on It Matters Radio

American indie music radio show It Matters caught up with doomtronica duo fire_sign earlier this month to learn more about their beautiful, miserable music.

Interviewers Kerry Hall and Monica Brinkman discovered what the band’s single Essential is really about, and also had an exclusive listen to fire_sign’s forthcoming release Sweet Oblivion which comes out in 2017.

Alex Banks

Alex Banks (Monkeytown) showed his support for doomtronica duo fire_sign by playing a gold-filled closer at the band’s September showcase.

Banks, who has toured with the band’s heroes Moderat, took to the decks after fire_sign performed a 45-minute set complete with live visuals at Servant Jazz Quarters in Dalston, East London.

DJ The Inconspicious Alpaca from the Musica Macondo collective opened the night.

fire_sign are thrilled to be forming part of the line-up at the first ever Pandora Fest on Saturday 16th July 2016.

The one-day festival, based in the beautiful fortified medieval village of DunCarron, was created to redress the balance of female artists playing within the festival scene.

Festival organisers said: “Pandora Fest is Scotland’s first and the UK’s premier music festival supporting women musicians and will celebrate female musicianship across all genres. This is not a woman-only festival however, and people of all genders are very welcome in the audience and as part of performing acts!”

Confirmed artists playing across the three stages include all London band Courtesans, New York based rapper Flapjak, Californian Electronic artist ContainHer, Texas singersongwriter Erin Bennett, London based singer/songwriter Sofia B, and Scottish acts Mo Ford, Bravado and the all-female funk band One More.

Pandora Fest was formed in collaboration with world class artist management company Attack Agency and also with The Clanranald Trust for Scotland.
